The beautiful homestead built in 1841. |
A small collection of the families that were there - not every one had arrived at this stage. |
Water carting - fortunately they didn't have to go down to the creek to get the water :) |
Watching the blacksmith at work. |
Scrubbing the clothes |
Old-fashioned fun - tug-of-war. |
Quoits |
Elastics (Not so old - I remember playing them at primary school!) |
The old men sitting down chatting the day away :) |
Exploring the barn and farm machinery |
Welcome to the Homestead |
Just for laughs, compare the photos from last time we went. Billy has certainly grown and changed :)
I love visiting the Homestead, and a hands-on day like that really sticks in the kid's minds. Great fun.

It was cool to compare pictures from your two visits. You did end up with a good photo to show the enormity of that tree ... good one!
Hope you don't mind the photo of E up there - let me know if you want his face blurred out (or the photo taken down).
Looks like a pretty cool place to visit :-)
No, I don't mind at all. Like you, in two years I'll look back and think how much he's changed ... the crossover age :)
What a great place to visit. And boy has Billy grown up since your last visit :-).
Looks like a great day Kez... LOVE your 'old men' pic hehehe
