Muffin..

I finally found the CD - this is one of my favourite photos of Muffin, taken about 6 years ago. It's actually quite startling to realise how much she had deteriorated in health from when this was taken. You know how you don't see changes when you are with someone all the time?

She was a Ragdoll cat - pure bred but not "perfect" enough to show so we got to buy her as a pet.

I still miss her & expect to see her at odd times - it still hurts but I've stopped crying..

Oh, Kerrie, she was beautiful (and that's coming from someone who's not a big cat lover). We recently watched some video I took of my Sam the day we had him put down and he looks sad and sorry for himself. Seeing them healthy and then in their last days does make you realize you ended their suffering and gives you comfort. OF course it helps when they die in their latter years and you know they've had a great life. Are you thinking of getting another cat?

Hugs babe. Lovely photo. I am sure you will have lovely memories too. Hold onto them and not what happened.

Thanks ladies :)

Libby - I don't think I could get another one in the near future. I'm actually going to enjoy the freedom of being able to go away without having to organise someone to look after the cat - Billy's already after a fish though! I've told him not until after Xmas!

What a beautiful photo. She will always be in your hearts and memories, I am sure she had a wonderful life within your family, I have a dog who I am nuts about, you get so attached to your pets.

Oh, I hear you. We didn't have our little kitten, Max, for too long when we discovered he had a rare, genetic, fatal disease. We'd had him for about 6 months and then had to put him down. I'll admit that I was surprised at how powerful this was for me. I, too, kept "seeing" him out of the corner of my eye. It's surprising how much it hurts. Sending hugs your way! :)
