Today was ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand. It marks the day the ANZACs (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps) landed at Gallipoli (Turkey) in 1915. It also commemorates all who have been lost in war.
They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we Forget
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we Forget
While Australian soldiers were fighting overseas, parcels of biscuits were sent across and became known as ANZAC biscuits. (Or so the story goes anyway!)
We made some today to mark the day.
