Wherefore art thou... time?

I hate this time of year.  Its just so busy and I end up taking on too much and stressing out.

Clients all seem to decide that they need work done before Xmas - I'm booked out with work until the beginning of March at the moment.  I'm thinking of putting this sign in my work email signature...

Well, not really, but its fun to think about :)

Every group seems to have an end of year party or concert or get-together...

Then there are the Xmas parties with family, friends and neighbours...

Oh, and Xmas shopping, getting ready to go away for holidays, etc etc etc...

I think I'll run away and come back in January :)

Bah humbug! LOL! I dislike the crankiness that comes out at this time of year. It is supposed to be a joyous time, yet in an effort to be joyous, people just seem to go crazy!

I especially try to avoid shopping centres due to people going nuts trying to buy stuff they cannot afford and yelling at their kids while they are being trampled by strangers! ????? Why bother?

I do like the togetherness and the gatherings though...they are fun!

I love your sign! Hugs xoxox

Ahh,

I have to say I have worked in customer service industries for long enough that the first time I saw that sign I just out and out laughed.

The day I had to explain to a department head that there truly was nothing that could be done , that was economically feasible, to recover his crashed hard drive regardless of how important the information was. The fact that I very well knew and had participated in ensuring that the IT department maintained departmental drive space which was kept backed up via multiple methods helped me say it with some empathy but little remorse.

Kind Regards
Belinda

I love the sign - it's so true though.

It's always a crazy time no matter how much I try to plan and shop ahead. I finished my Christmas cards over the weekend and honestly, I try not to mention it to anyone since they look @ me like I have 3 heads. But it's one thing I can do to try to keep some sanity around here as things get busier and busier.

I like your idea of running away until January!

That's a very clever sign, a fun thought even if you can't do it. Can't you just work 90 hours a week? Just kidding. Or perhaps hire someone to be your duplicate. Or get Billy to invent something to help (time travel, parallel universe etc)?!?!

I won't invite you to any parties (not that I'm planning any ... you ought to thank me for that). But it will be great to see you if we both make it to something :)

I hope you can find enough moments for yourself to keep you going.

Ha, that's funny - guess what we're doing this year? Running away for a month, back in middle of January. I am so excited about the trip, but more that I have finished my xmas presents, tree's up, shopping done, cards sent, our xmas day with presents and family is on the 12th and we don't have to run the kids here, there and everywhere on xmas day (being from a mixed family). Why didn't I think about this earlier, I think it will be our new tradition! Happy holidays, everyone!

@Karen: Can I come too? LOL I have to admit I have been thinking about running off for years..And would you believe it? My mum, who has always insisted we have to stay local has decided to take off this year! :-O

I have not the heart to tell her yet but DH wants to run away over seas for the whole of winter! I'm not sure if I am up to it yet but it is looking interesting!
