A few weeks ago I made a vow to stop experiencing life from the sidelines. To stop being the mum sitting watching my son do fun things, and to join in where possible.
I put it to the test today - Billy went indoor rock-climbing as an organised homeschool activity, and I joined in! And I'm quite chuffed to say I made it to the top of the wall 3 times on the easiest paths, and made it about 3/4 of the way on a harder overhang section. It was tough but fun!!
I'll probably feel it tomorrow though - the muscles are starting to tighten up :)

Sounds like you had a great time!Tom's keen for me to join him at Archery, so does this mean that you'll be joining in on that too?
Gae's trying to convince me to try archery - I've told her to keep working on me :) I will give it a go at some stage - I might pick a day when there's not many kids so I don't hold them all up!
Its funny, Billy was so happy and excited when I said I was doing the rock climbing!
I'd love to have a go one day when Dd is a bit older. DS would like to go again. Good on you for having a go - is it a bird, is it a plane...no no it's S U P E R M U M!!
Hope you had a chance to stretch and take a hot shower! I would love to try rock climbing, but I have to overcome some fear issues first. Something about being up high and against a wall and relying on someone handling safety lines freaks me out. :o)
Archery is fun. It's a great workout for the arms.
Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
Congrats! A couple of years ago our homeschool group went tree climbing (with ropes and harnesses), and I was the only mom to go up. It was awesome, and well worth a little day-after soreness. Keep it up! - Mo
Yay for you! Awesome! Rock climbing is not my thing (I've tried it, but have vertigo like you wouldn't believe) but I have also tried archery and LOVED it. Give it a go!
Awesome!!
Hope you aren't feeling it too much today.
How great that B was so excited to be sharing this "learning thing" with his mum.
See you Friday?
Thanks everyone - I'm a bit sore today but still feeling great. Its amazing how achieving something like that can have such a big difference on your outlook and self-esteem.
Marissa - we won't be there this Friday, I'm staying closer to home this week. See you next time I hope!
Way to go Kerrie. That is awesome. My girls and Kevin all climb but I haven't given it a go - don't want everyone watching my big butt go up the wall :-).
Libby
Fantastic - good on you.
I'm sure the soreness will be worth it.... photos?
Nah, I couldn't take photos and climb at the same time ;)
offer the camera to Billy! ;)
