Impressed with myself :)

I bought myself an overlocker a few weeks ago (actually it was even longer than that since I ordered it since a certain well-known chain starting with S and ending in 'light' doesn't keep stock of sewing machines in store!!!)... Anyway... It stayed in the box while I read the instruction manual and tried to figure out how the heck to use it! I took it away with us on the weekend so that Mum could help me set it up and stop me freaking out that I was going to chop my fingers off :)

I love it!

So ta-da, presenting the first thing made on my new overlocker - a pair of boxer shorts for Master B!

Very nice! I have had an overlocker for years and hardly ever use it. I probably should but my daughter kind of took it over. LOL

You've crossed the line, hooray!

Yikes, I typed 'You're a sewer' but it doesn't look like the compliment I intended. Luckily YKWIM :)

Fantastic!!
Was Master B suitably impressed? I'm trying to pass on the sewing skills to Akira but he is a little afraid of the machine at the moment.

:-)

The revelation that I experienced when I first got my hands on an overlocker was amazing.

It has taken making a simple dress from an all day event to something that only takes a couple of hours.. and more importantly I know it won't fray when I wash it so my mending is reduced.

Kind Regards
Belinda

Congrats! Love the boxers!! I too would like to know if Master B. was suitably impressed?

Yes Master B seems to be impressed. He's wearing them, so that's the main thing!

He's not getting his hands on my overlocker anytime soon - he already uses my other sewing machine!

Way to go. I got an overlocker for my birthday last year but by the time I got over the illness that lingererd for a month the sewing shop that was going to teach me how to lose it closed!!!!! I had about one hour of instruction and that was it. I need to rethread and so the machine has sat unused ever since. Now you've given me the inspiration to check out the manual and give it another go -esp. now that the sewing room is all clean.

Everywhere I look at the moment clever people are sewing.... I'm beginning to think this is a sign to dust off my very old sewing machine & actually learn to sew! lol

Yay! Have fun....

I was pretty scared of my overlocker when I frst got it - but love how easy it makes sewing.

Enjoy! The boxers look great.
