We also read an Aboriginal tale and Billy watched a video of some animated Aboriginal dreamtime stories.

We had a visit from the fire brigade at the homeschool meeting - they showed the kids around the fire engine, and talked to them about fire safety.

Creative & Practical Arts: Drama lessons and art gallery. Using the video camera.

PDHPE (Personal Development, Health & Physical Education):
Swimming lessons plus swimming with friends. Lots of running around at the homeschool meeting.

At the end of this week, we're heading off down south (Melbourne / Canberra) for a few weeks in the van. We won't be doing formal lessons while we're away, but are planning on doing lots of educational things like Sovereign Hill, Questacon, dinosaur museum, Tidbinbilla Tracking Station etc.

Kez, nice time of year to go on holidays! Our favourite spot in Canberra is Commonwealth Park. There is a really fab spot somewhere in there where they've connected a heap of concrete pipes and made a tunnel network. Our boys love it.

They also voted the funny mirrors, the spaceship simulator & the lightning simulator at Questacon as their joint favourites.

Hi Kerry,
My family did a similar trip a few years ago and LOVED it. Canberra is so great, and Sovereign Hill is the best.Completely unforgettable. The sound and light tour at night is well worth it to complete the experience.
About an hour out of Ballarat, at a place called Creswick, we found a dinosaur park that was not well promoted. It was really good for kids Billy's age, as it is just a bush property, with life size dinosaurs tucked throughout the property, that the kids feel as though they are discovering. Max was in his element.I dont know if its still there, but it might be worth looking for.
Have a great trip.
Love Kylie
